The GF Play Difference

Safety - Playing it Safe

Our report card speaks for itself: 10,000+ play environments and 0 lawsuits.

In our 25 year history, we’ve set the bar many times. We created the first outdoor art easel, the first perceptual motor wall, the first totem climber, and the first flow-control water pump.

But the one record we’re most proud of is our safety record. We’ve created more than 10,000 play environments, and we have yet to experience our first lawsuit for injury to a child.

Why are GF Play Playgrounds so Safe?

#1: Our all-out commitment to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Handbook for Public Playground Safety.

In fact, many of our internal safety standards go well beyond these minimum safety guidelines. Using an integrated approach, our playground specialists carry out all aspects of your project, from design through installation. This synergistic approach – with a constant eye on safety—ensures your customized structure has been integrated correctly into your landscape.

#2: We include obstruction free halos around each climbing component on a complex climber.

Safety guidelines require six feet of clear space around individual climbers so children can land safely on resilient surfaces, not on hard components of the structure.

#3: A GF Play exclusive design standard which eliminates metal rungs on ladders that project away from the deck into the needed free-fall zone.

The rungs on GF Play playgrounds are perpendicular to the ground so a falling child lands on resilient surfacing.
